CJWinter® manufactures the premier line of thread rolling attachments, thread rolls, specialty dies and tooling for multi-spindle and CNC machines.
C. J. Winter Machine Works, Inc. (later changed to CJWinter Machine Technologies, Inc.) was incorporated in 1956 and acquired by Robert J. Brinkman in 1969. In continuous operation since then, CJWinter is known worldwide for its high-quality thread rolls, easy-to-adjust thread rolling attachments, competitive pricing and the industry’s fastest turnaround times.
Initially focused on the manufacture of tooling and accessories for the Davenport screw machine, Mr. Brinkman pioneered the development of the pneumatic thread-rolling attachment. At the same time, CJWinter also began to expand its product offerings to include a complete line of thread-rolling dies both for its own attachment as well as for those from other manufacturers.
Today, CJWinter is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of cold-displacement, cylindrical dies and attachments. CJWinter’s products are found in traditional thread-rolling applications such as those used with multi-spindle screw machines, rotary transfer machines and CNC – lathes. CJWinter’s products and dies are also found in specialty applications like cold-root rolling used by the oil and gas industry and in industries using dedicated rolling, forming and shaping mills.

Attachment Rolls
CJWinter manufactures a wide range of attachment thread rolls. Our quality and performance is unsurpassed, and 80% of our thread rolls ship within 24 hours. We produce rolls to fit not only our own Winter and Davenport attachments, but also all major manufacturers, including Landis, Fette, Reed, Salvo, and Detroit. Burnishing rolls
Burnishing rolls are manufactured holding extremely tight tolerances with polished surfaces to produce mirror-like finishes on your part. When burnishing, the pressure generated by the rolls exceeds the yield point of the part surface at the point of contact, resulting in a slight deformation on the surface of the work piece.
MAThread
MAThread offers a fixed cross threading so that cross-threads never occur. With over 33 billion installations completed, our customers can attest that MAThread “glides” in easily to the assembly. Aligned components allows the MAThread to find holes and force itself straight. The MAThread also fixes clogged internal threads and pushes through paint buildup.

Sucker Rods
If you manufacture Sucker Rods, Pony Rods, Sinker Bars or Couplings, in either AISI Grade or API Grade Alloy, CJWinter is the Best Choice for your thread rolling needs. Available in 5/8″, 3/4″, 7/8″, 1″ & 1 1/8″ body diameters. If your product line contains Rotary Shoulder Connections, Sucker Rods, Threaded Bolts or API Connections for Onshore or Offshore, CJWinter thread rolls and burnishing rolls will meet your production requirements.
Cold Root Rolling
The complete line of tooling for cold root rolling rotary shouldered connections is compatible with any CNC lathe, and our engineering team is always available to help with installation and technical questions. Cold root rolling is your solution to expensive, stressed and failing thread roots in drill string connections. By burnishing the thread root in rotary shouldered connections, cold root rolling prolongs the service life of your drilling equipment by up to 3 to 5 times.
